Differentiation, Documentation, Affirmation = Motivation!
Are you a gifted resource teacher struggling to meet the needs of all of your gifted and talented students? Do you find it difficult to make individualized lessons for students in multiple service areas and modalities? As a former Gifted Resource Teacher in Arizona, I always felt strained to meet the needs of students and teachers who needed support in a consistent and efficient way. Luckily, I found an easier way to save classroom time, student time, and keep my high-ability students engaged in work that was right for them! My district introduced the Marzano Framework and required us to create Learning Goals and Scales, which plan student differentiation ahead of time. After incorporating this simple model into my Math and ELA classes, I saw it’s potential to completely streamline my lesson planning and consulting.
